Pandora’s Beauty Box Giveaway

Hey guys,

I apologise for the lack of blogging for the last two weeks, my wireless box broke down and I’ve been nursing Blue after his major operation (I’m praying they got all the cancer and he doesn’t have to go through this again).

So, remember a couple weeks ago I said I was going to do a giveaway? This isn’t your regular giveaway.

I’m NOT doing a giveaway to get more followers on my blog/twitter or likers on my facebook page. I am doing this giveaway to (a) celebrate my new blog and (b) to show my loyal readers how much I appreciate their support and kind comments.

So, more on the giveaway….

I have a box bulging with beauty products, all brand new, never used and no cheap shiz! This box must be worth like £150, if not more.

According to Greek mythology, Pandora’s box was a beautiful container which Pandora was not to open under any circumstances….well, with my beauty box, you won’t know what’s in it and I’ll try to make it look pretty, however, I KNOW you’re gonna love what’s in it once you open it up.

This giveaway is open to my UK readers only (sorry my regular reading beauties in the U.S, Middle East and France).

All you have to do to enter by commenting on what YOU would wish to have in Pandora’s Beauty Box. Leave your name and email address too so I can put all details into random.org.

Giveaway ends Sunday 22nd April at midnight.

Have fun entering.

Lots of love..

The most elusive lip balm known to womankind

I love lip balms, I work for lip balm brands, I have probably tried every lip balm on the market…apart from the one I have been after for months! I’m not sure if I am so desperate to get hold of this particular lip balm because of the fun of the chase….. anyhow, the initial reason I wanted to try it is because it claims to plump up your lips over a period of time.

The product? C-Lipoic Lip Enhancer by DermaQuest.

Here is the scientific info about the product..

“Rich in Vitamin C, this high-grade lip treatment uses powerful plumping spheres to boost volume, and natural Jojoba to moisturise the delicate skin and improve lip texture.  The hard-working ingredients also help to restore the density of the dermal layer, resulting in plumper, sexier and younger-looking lips when used over time.

DermaQuest searches the world to find new, state-of-the-art ingredients that are formulated into the best possible results-oriented products.  C-Lipoic Lip Enhancer contains the following to help your lips looks irresistibly bee-stung:

BV-OSC– a multi-active form of vitamin C that penetrates deeper than the usual form. Promotes even skin tone, stimulates collagen production and provides protecting antioxidant benefits as well as enhancing other ingredients performance

SODIUM HYALURONATE – an essential dermal hydrator which plumps and smoothes the skin.  Thought to be one of the most valuable ingredients in skincare today

ALPHA LIPOIC ACID – a ‘universal’ antioxidant with a potent repairing effect on skin cells.  Fights free radical damage in and outside the cell membrane as well as inside the cell. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory and is lipid and water soluble to allow maximum physiological changes in the skin

ASC III® – an amino acid which increases the production of collagen III in the skin and scavenges free radicals. Significantly increases smoothness and the formation of collagen fibres in the dermis

HYALURONIC ACID MICROSPHERES – these microspheres rapidly penetrate the skin for maximum benefit.  Once the spheres come into contact with skin’s natural water, the acid content allows the spheres to swell, increasing volume and filling in lines in the lip”

I am hoping to find this during my trip to London this week, I am obsessed with full lips and I am so curious to see if this lip balm really works.

Farrah Tells…Artisanal Chocolates from San Francisco

Happy Mothering Sunday to you all,

I don’t have children, however, I do see my dogs as my babies and they are treating my to some Tom Ford make up. I’ve been debating about buying TF make up since I ‘lost’ my first ever TF lipstick when the range debuted (‘lost’ = former skanky associate used it without asking permission, knowing that I do NOT EVER share make up, especially lipstick..you know who you are). So, I am going to pick up another lippy and the blusher I’ve been lusting over for ages. Watch out for the review.

Whilst watching The Taming of the Shrew, I decided to finally eat my delicious Christopher Elbow Artisanal Chocolates. My beautiful playboy bunny friend from LA bought them for me and sent them over all the way from Sunny San Francisco.

Those of you who know me and follow me on twitter, you’ll know my diet consists solely of chocolate and lately, Popchips, so I was surprised I hadn’t heard of Christopher Elbow’s Artisanal Chocolates before.

The packaging is beautiful but I was in awe of the stunning hand painted chocolates, look..

I wanted to take artistic pics with my Nikon but….I desperately wanted to tuck in, so used the camera on my iPhone 4s.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I thoroughly enjoyed every single chocolate. There were some that I would never have tried before, like Rosemary and caramel (the green Kryptonite-looking one), this was deee-lish!

Fleur de Sel contained caramel infused with Grey French Sea Salt, this one was scrumptious too.

I wonder if Christopher Elbow will open up a store in the UK?

If you’re a mum, how was your mother’s day? what did you buy for your mum?

The Return of the Kings & Queens

I remember when this product range was in the UK a while back, I don’t know WHY it disappeared…but I am glad it’s BACK..Re- introducing KINGS & QUEENS.

I have only tried the body butters and my favourite is Nefertiti Honey, inspired by Queen Nefertiti of Egypt who used honey as a beauty treatment. There is also  Tsar Peter Tobacco, attributed to the Great Tsar’s fixation with aromatic tobacco, the KINGS & QUEENS team looked into the past to create a line that reflects the herb & spice obsessions developed over the ages.

At the heart of each product is a royal mix of pomegranate, blue Egyptian lotus and malachite extracts to maximize indulgence. The purple fruit of the pomegranate ends in a crown-like top which is why it is shown on the coat of arms of many royal houses. The flower of the blue lotus was the most popular ancient Egyptian symbol of glory and eternal life for gods and mortals alike, while malachite was used by Russian Tsars to decorate their palace as it was believed to ‘lend’ extra energy and bring harmony to one’s life.

The full range of body butters are below;

Inspired by the magnificent palatial gardens of the Spanish city of Granada and legendary scent of the blooming lemon trees. A refreshing and enlivening fragrance to stimulate the senses, whilst leaving the skin feeling smooth and rehydrated.

Feeling Blue

Good evening, I hope you are all well?

I hope you like my new blog? I got off to a great start with loads of plans to take pictures and draft posts on everything from my latest craving (Pop Chips) to a new wonder product I’ve discovered (Clarins treatment oil). However, yesterday, I had some devastating news…

Those of you who follow me on twitter will know that one of my dogs, the eldest (Blue) had an operation last week to remove a (seemingly harmless) lump. I wanted to know exactly what it was because it had grown so quick in a short period of time, so I asked the vet to send it off to be analysed.

The results came back yesterday and the vet told me it’s cancer. I wanted to be sick, I couldn’t believe that my beautiful Blue has cancer! It came as such a shock because the vet didn’t even mention that cancer was a possibility! When I first noticed the small lump a month ago, one of the vets said it’s an ‘age lump’ and just monitor it..well, I certainly did and turns out it was CANCER!

So, the next step now is for me to contact a specialist oncologist vet, so I’ll keep you updated.

If you have pets, please check them for any unusual lumps and take them to the vets right away.

Night night and thanks for reading.

Beach Face

I used BECCA cosmetics as a MUA many years ago, I loved the cream blushers, pigments (Nymph was one of my fave) and the foundations/liquid highlighters. I was known for my ‘signature glow’ as a MUA at photo shoots and on music videos and this signature glow was always created with BECCA products.

More recently, I came across the Beach Tints, available in seven delicious shades, BECCA’s Beach Tint is a Summer hols must-have. It’s water-resistant, streak-free, can be worn as a blush and on lips. It’s non-greasy, non-drying so it’s suitable for all skin types.

The shades I am going to hunt down are;

Guava -  bright coral pink

Watermelon – bright Pink

Grapefruit – pale Coral Pink

Strawberry – warm orange red

The tints cost £20 each and are available from www.beccacosmetics.com

Have you tried the BECCA Beach tints? If so, which shades?

When I buy these four colours, I will do some swatches and let you know exactly how good they are. I’m confident they’ll be AHHH-MAZING.
